I have learned when i was traping muskrat is they like to run under grass that hanges over my creek. So what I do is I lift that grass up and put the trap in the mud and i have caught many muskrat and their hide usually sells from seven to thirteen dollars. When you lift that grass make sure that you dont disturb the area too much and remember to put the grass down. Muskrat are abundant all over Wisconsin. I use a single spring trap. What I look for under the grass is fresh scat and I also look for a place where there is a lot of wear in the mud. As you know, muskrat are rodents. They are very quick! They only weigh one to three pounds. They have a long tail. They are brown. You can also use conabears, which is a body trap.
Raccoon are very unique. They are known for their mask and ringed tail. They usually weigh fifteen to twenty-five pounds. Sometimes they weigh thirty-five pounds. Their dens are usually in a hollow tree or a log. Raccoon have a small hibernation in the winter. In fall they eat fruits, grains, and acorns. They also eat birds, eggs, fish, frogs, crayfish, and insects. You can use a foot trap and conabears. I prefer foot traps because they dont damage the hide by the neck. That is my opinion some people prefer the conabear. What I do is I dig a hole then I set the trap in the hole. After that I make sure the trap is stable. I dig a hole and put marshmellows into it.
